Sharon Sookdeo

Sharon “Liz” Sookdeo passed away on August 20, 2026 at the age of 83. Liz was born on June 2, 1943, in Trinidad and Tobago. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caretaker for her family. She had a giving heart, spirit, and soul that was loved by so many.
Dad affectionately called Mom “Brainiac”—a nickname that, according to Dad, perfectly captured her ability to always have an answer, never give up, and, somehow, always win!
Liz, known as Mom to all she cherished, was a beloved figure in the lives of many.Her life was driven by a deep passion for helping others, and she never saw anyone as beyond redemption. Always ready to lend a helping hand, her commitment to her family and community was unwavering, and she worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was cared for.
Liz had a special love for taking care of children, finding joy in nurturing and caring for them. Later in life, she continued that same calling by working as a health aide, where her compassion and dedication to helping others touched many lives. Liz lived through her faith in God and loved to sing hymns, which brought her great joy and reflected the deep faith she carried in her heart. Liz’s legacy of kindness, faith, and selflessness will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Liz was happily married for 60 years to Came and is survived by 5 children; Sherry (Debra), Wendy (Ann), Dennis (Wayne), Sean, Kathy, 3 grandchildren: Stefanie, Sheina, Alex and 3 great grandchildren: Annalise, Leilani, Selene.
