Sandra "Sandy" Newman Ottenberg Obituary (2021)

Sandra "Sandy" Newman Ottenberg, of Voorhees, NJ, passed away on June 3, 2021 at the age of 81. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years David Ottenberg; her children Larry (Debbie) and Howard (Susan) Ottenberg and Mat (Howard) Winer; and her grandchildren Sarah, Aaron, Danielle and Jessica. Sandy lived a full life and through it all, nothing was more important to her than her family, friends and community. Sandy loved people - she enjoyed talking to everyone, making new friends, keeping long time friendships and honoring the dead through the Chevra Kadisha. She loved being a nurse almost as much as making friends and was available to lend a helping hand to expectant mothers, neighborhood friends and nursing students. She also valued education and continued her own through nursing, bachelors and masters of public health degrees. Sandy's last home was at Lions Gate in Voorhees, and though she was there only a short time, was already known for joining any activity and taking an opportunity to chat with everyone.
