RACHEL JOHNSTON
Rachel Johnston, age 38, of Gloucester Twp, NJ, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 after a 26 month long journey with brain cancer. Rachel loved her family, singing, being on time, playing games, steak nights, and Jesus. She was a great wife to Andrew and a fun loving mother to Lexi and Luke. Rachel’s personality was vibrant!
Rachel was born on November 12, 1987. At the time, she was the fifth child and the second girl. Her enthusiastic, joyful attitude was contagious to those around her. She played sports and loved participating in theater. She had a wonderfully expressive voice, and Rachel sang so frequently that those around her felt like they were living in a musical.
Rachel was a leader. She did everything well and efficiently while managing to make it fun. After graduating from Rowan she began a successful career in HR. Employers and coworkers alike quickly recognized her value and she advanced in her field. She solved problems with ease from payroll issues to showing her toddlers how to turn a drawing mishap to a heart on the page.
Throughout her life, she felt God was in all the details. In the Bible, in Philippians 4:6-7 it reads, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Rachel had an opportunity to fully
experience that ‘peace that surpasses all understanding’. She had no fear in death because she knew where she was going in eternity. Rachel would have eagerly answered your questions about what it means to put your trust in Christ. On October 6, 2026, she achieved her lifelong dream of singing constantly (in praising her Lord and Savior). So, now she would encourage you to ask her family members any questions you may have.
Rachel married beloved husband Andrew Johnston and they were blessed with children Alexandria (8) and Luke (7). She is daughter of Doris (nee Williams) and the late James Rebstock. Rachel is the sister of David (Nikki) Rebstock, Deborah (Brian) Travers, Michael (Shannon) Rebstock, Joshua Rebstock, Jonathan Rebstock, and Benjamin Rebstock. She is affectionately known as Aunt Rach to a host of nephews and nieces and is a loving daughter-in-law to John (Kathy) Johnston and sister-in-law to Timothy (Allyson) Johnston, Kevin (Donna) Johnston, and Ashley (Patrick) Knopka.
