he always shined with his infectious smile and joyful heart. He made those around
him feel special and deeply loved.
Dr. Hayes passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on
August 24, 1951, in Oxford, North Carolina, the last of ten children to Leon and
Bessie Hayes. He graduated with Honors from John Bartram High School in

After his college graduation, Dr. Hayes attended the University of Pennsylvania
School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency at Temple Hospital.
Earning his Board of Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, he practiced at

Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Hayes will be remembered for his heart of service and love of music. As a
participant in the Swarthmore Gospel College Choir, he performed various song
selections, one of his favorites being “Gracious Good Shepherd.” Known for his
baritone voice, he inspired the hearts of those who listened. He loved encouraging
others to follow their dreams. He valued hard work and dedication as he
continuously invested himself in helping people achieve their goals.
On August 2, 1975, Dr. Hayes married Margaret Chiquita Davidson in Baltimore,
Maryland, and together they had four children. He is survived by Chiquita and
