Cherry Hill, New Jersey

Isabella “Izzie” Mayo, January 17, 2024, of Lake Worth, FL, formerly of, Erda Utah, Kingston NJ, Houston Texas, Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Miami Beach Fl. Izzie was born in Akron Ohio and very much loved her time at the family beach house in Surf City Long Beach Island.

Daughter of Michael and Martha Mayo. Sister of Michael (Riya) Mayo and Chelsea Perciballi. Aunt to Liam & Kash Perciballi and Zayd Mayo. And the owner of her irrepressible cat Archer. Izzie “Bella” to her community in Lake Worth, she was first and foremost an artist. Her medium of choice was acrylic but accomplished at sketch. Her poetry was deep and emotional highlighting the struggles and sometime joys of life. She sang and was a multi-instrumentalist. She performed with the Houston Opera for their rendition of Carmina Burana. She starred in the Lewis School’s holiday show and designed the costume for the lead actor. Her credits include work at the Burt Reynolds Theatre at Palm Beach State College, Camelot at the Lake Worth Playhouse and roles in a number of productions at the South Brunswick High School.

Izzie was by nature a humanitarian, extending her generosity, love and empathy to anyone in need. She was a civic leader in her Lake Worth community speaking out against injustice particularly when she observed, in her view, harsh treatment of the homeless by neighbors and the authorities. She also collected organic food for shelters. While in high school she convinced the athletic department at South Brunswick to provide dozens of soccer uniforms, shoes and soccer balls for her brother’s students in a small village in Ghana while he served in the Peace Corps. Izzie regularly opened her small abode to friends and strangers who were left homeless by the difficult transitions in life.

Izzie was a music lover who meticulously selected her playlist with songs of the heart, conscience and personal growth.

She was a “foodie” who carefully scanned the menu for nutrition and flavor. When the server asked for her selection she would respond, “I’ll have a cheeseburger”.

Izzie was and remains a fearless advocate for a better world. Her daily words as she was preparing for each day Be the Light, Be Kind, Have courage.
