Irwin (Scott) Gilman

Cherry Hill, New Jersey

Irwin (Scott) Gilman
May 20, 2026, of Cherry Hill, NJ. Husband of Patricia Gilman. Father of Jody Gilman (Lance Nichols). Grandfather of Blaise Gilman Nichols and Boston Gilman Nichols. Brother of Brenda Goodhart.

Raised in The Bronx, Scott spent his youth under the city lights, living to play basketball on the local streets all day and night. His deep sense of patriotism led him to the U.S. Marine Corps, where he proudly served as a machine gunner aboard the USS Wasp. Though his active service concluded, the Marine Corps remained a central source of pride and character for the rest of his life.

Professionally, Scott spent 45 dedicated years as a salesman in the industrial packaging industry. Known for his warmth, integrity, and genuine nature, he didn’t just build a book of business—he built clients who inevitably became lifelong friends.

Above all, Scott lived entirely for his family. His love for his wife, Pat, was completely unconditional, and she served as his devoted, tender caregiver until the very end. He was a fiercely proud father who would have truly done anything in the world for his daughter, Jody, and his legacy of devotion lives on through his grandsons.

Relatives and friends are invited Friday, May 29, 2026 beginning 11:30 AM to PLATT MEMORIAL CHAPELS, Inc. 2001 Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, NJ where funeral services will begin promptly at 12:00 noon. Funeral services will also be live streamed on Irwin’s memorial page at www.plattmemorial.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Glaucoma Foundation at www.glaucomafoundation.org
