Cherry Hill, New Jersey
Charles Howard Rosen, 81, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2026 after a long struggle.
Born in Camden, NJ, Charlie lived a life powered by discipline, humor, rhythm, and deep devotion to family. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force.
Charlie and Ginger raised their family in Randolph, NJ where he built a remarkable career defined by consistency and grit, spending 30 years as Head Buyer for Acme Markets. In his retirement, he had a second career in Exton, PA working at Lowe’s for 10 years. He approached his work in the same way he approached everything else in life: with intensity, pride, and an unwavering work ethic. In 2015 Charlie and Ginger REALLY retired to Boynton Beach, FL where they had an active life full of tennis, clubs, shows, and new friends.
An avid tennis player throughout his life, he brought equal passion to every tennis court, ping pong table, poker game, and checker board. No matter the competitive challenge, he played to win—and almost always did. Family legend holds that he was a “professional and unbeatable” checkers player, a title few would dare to dispute.
Music brought him great joy. His personal soundtrack ranged from the electrifying “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen to the nostalgic sway of “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)” by Looking Glass, the hypnotic pulse of “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” by Eurythmics, the sharp wit of “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon, and the timeless groove of “I Shot the Sheriff” by Bob Marley. He also cherished the triumphant spirit of the Rocky soundtrack and the sweeping romance of the song track to Camelot. If there was music playing, Charlie was moving—often the first on the dance floor and the last to leave.
Above all, Charlie was the heart of every room and the center of his family’s world. A true life-of-the-party presence, his energy, humor, and warmth were magnetic. Yet behind that vibrant spirit was a man whose
greatest pride was always his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ginger Rosen; his son, Brad Rosen, and daughter-in-law Kasey; his daughter, Marnie Neff, and son-in-law David; his sister, Barbara Palosky, and her husband Paul;
and his cherished granddaughters, Addy, Lila and Millie Rosen, and Sami and Shoshi Neff. He was Uncle Charlie to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Charlie lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind a legacy of strength, humor, joy, and connection. His story will continue to echo—in the rhythm of music, in the thrill of competition, and most of all, in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
